  1. And an important further update:

Adobe is now making this $10 PS+LR bundle offer available for everyone until the end of the year, December 31, 2013…

This is not an introductory rate. What will the price be in a year? A company rep says, “The sign-up window is limited but the price itself isn’t. That is, it won’t be going up in a year.”

As mentioned in the article above, this is the regular price for the package and there are no plans to change it.

  2. Please Adobe, could you please make a prepay 12-month subscription available for the Photoshop Photography offer, just like you do for the full Adobe CC prepaid?

Also what should I do if I want want more program of the CC suite? I don’t have the need, nor the interest, nor the time to learn all the 20 products of the CC suite. But I want to use one more program besides LR + PS, so what do you recommend? Maybe you have already answered that question already.

    • Hi Polo, it’s a good question. Obviously not everyone can or would use all of the different CC tools contained within Creative Cloud… It’s just like it was with Creative Suite, where you get a big discount for bundling many applications together even if you don’t need them all.

So if you’re upgrading from a CS tool then you can get the complete Creative Cloud for 40% off the regular price.

Or, if you’re a student or teacher, then you can get everything with an even bigger discount of up to 70% off.

Outside of that, we’d suggest signing up for the Photography plan as described above, and then adding your additional tool with a single-app subscription for any other program you want.

  3. I tried to get this Photoshop/Lightroom “BlackFriday/Cyber Monday Deal” that’s open to everybody when offered before. Was told I did not qualify, so am paying the monthly price for Photoshop CC only. Is this special really for everybody and if so, how can I get it? I wanted Lightroom but can’t afford regular price.

  4. Question about Behance in this deal… Behance website said “Build your site for free – only pay when you’re ready to publish”…. So how does that work with this subscription? Does it mean I have to pay extra to publish after building a site? Or no extra cost to publish?

    Much Thanks!

    • Hey Pete, one of the great things about this plan is you also get a Behance ProSite (their top-of-the-line product) included in the package! The regular price for that by itself is $100/year…

So to precisely answer your question: you don’t pay any extra cost to publish your site – it’s fully available to you as a member of this Photoshop Photography Program.

    • Hello Mike, this special plan is for two of the most popular programs – Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom – that are most desired by photographers… There are some other tools & services included in the bundle but those are the two main tools.

If you’re looking for all programs (adding Illustrator, Acrobat, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Muse, Edge, and the rest) then you want the complete Creative Cloud package.

  5. Hi, I heard there’s a mobile version of Lightroom coming out, is that included in the Photoshop Photographer’s plan as well?

    Thanks

  6. I sometimes work in remote areas where there is no internet connection. Will I be able to use the software while offline?

    Reply
    • Yes, with any level of annual Creative Cloud subscription (including this one), you can run the installed CC software on your computer desktop for over 99 days without needing any online connection…

In other words, a constant Internet connection is not required – see Adobe’s connectivity answers page for more details.

  7. I just want an old-fashioned, Photoshop download, at a set price – is that available at all, or must we continue to be gouged by /month pricing for a simple photoshop download??

    Reply
    • Gouged? A Photoshop download (before CC) would cost you $700-$1000… Is that simple?

Well, it’s certainly not cheap – and even less so when you count any upgrades from that, which run $200-$350 each time.

Here with this Photography offer, you get Photoshop CC and all ongoing updates, plus Lightroom 5, LR Mobile, and other apps & services for $10 a month (regular price). Is that a bad deal?

It would take you over 10 years to pay more with the subscription than you would pay upfront for static perpetual copies of this software, which would likely no longer work on a modern computer anyway after a decade.

But to answer your first question – yes, if you still want an old-fashioned Photoshop download at a set price, then you can still buy Photoshop CS6 (Adobe still sells it direct) for the price mentioned above, $700-$1000. It’s the 2012 version.

  8. This is what I just posted to my Facebook wall:

This is a fantastic offer which I took advantage of about 2 months ago. This offer may end June 30th. If I understand what they are saying correctly you will be able to renew every year at this same price. Based on what these items have sold for this is around a $1300 value for $9.95 a month, and updates are free. The first update to Photoshop CC is coming next month this June.

They have all kinds of helpful books and videos to help learn this program, also all free. Photoshop is the program most professionals use, but even us amateurs can make wonderful use of it and learn as we go. I have absolutely no financial interest in Adobe of any kind, but just want my friends here to at least know about this best offer ever from Adobe in case it might be of value to you. This link (which is 100% safe) will give you all the details.

  9. $9.99 for Ps+Lr = can you install on TWO computers mac+laptop ? This will only be viable to a small photographer if TWO computers are accepted for only editing photographs. One for use at Shop and second to use at home.

  10. CS3 is great for editing work for a small photo business and does not require all other techniques. Desktop mac used at shop for urgent work and laptop is used at home or away for photo editing. There are chances that you will increase your monthly charges from $9.99 to any in time to come and the photographer will face more difficulties.

    • Hey Rita, Adobe has been clear that $9.99 a month is the regular price of this bundle, and they keep adding more to it (like Lightroom Mobile) without raising the price.

Photoshop CS3 is 7-year-old technology with basic functions, and if that’s what you choose to use, fine – but is very far now from the state-of-the-art… There were a huge number of improvements between PS CS5 vs. CS6, and more still in Photoshop CC vs. CS6. Just talking about one new feature – Content-Aware Fill, which made its debut in CS5, got vastly improved (adding Patch/Move/Extend) in CS6, and works even better in CC – this feature is magic and dead-simple to use, and easily saves us dozens of hours every year. What’s your time worth?

Finally, CS3 was written in the era of Windows Vista and does not even support 64-bit for fast performance. It is also of course no longer supported by Adobe, and may not run native on newer versions of Windows or Mac OS if you ever get a new computer.

So while it’s your prerogative to run your business or do your work on whatever software you want, you might want to ask yourself if you think you could save $10/month in time or results by using a newer, more powerful, and supported tool with a far richer featureset.

  11. We purchased CS3, then CS5 with the full licence, paid for the licence, and if the computer breaks down and we want to reload the fully paid CS3, you are demanding subscription which means that ADOBE is not honoring their commitment for the fully paid licence. We were happy with simple photoshop of CS3 and do not need any other fancy tools. We demand that you be good enough to honor your old licence agreements and do not make efforts to make money unfairly on top of what you have been paid for.

  12. ProDesignTools,

Thanks for responding to our comments. I’m not a photographer, but have been wanting to get a hold of Photoshop somehow. I have a single app subscription for Illustrator, and was debating adding another single app subscription for Photoshop until I saw this Photography bundle option with Photoshop + LR.

Being that I have absolutely no need for LR at the moment, would I be able to sign up for this Photography package, but only download and install Photoshop, or is it mandatory that we download both apps for this package to work?

    Thanks!

    • Sure Chris, glad to help! You don’t need to be a photographer or any kind of professional to take advantage of this offer… And you don’t need to use the whole thing – you can just download and run Photoshop CC 2014 if that’s what you want or need.

The rest of the bundle is available to you (Lightroom desktop and mobile, Behance ProSite, online storage, free tutorials, etc.), but you are under no obligation to use it if you don’t need it.

Definitely people are doing what you mentioned – getting this Photoshop plan and then adding another single CC app like Illustrator or InDesign. It all works together.

      Hope that helps clarify!

  13. ProDesignTools,

    Thanks!

One last thing. Is there really a deadline to sign up for this photography bundle? I can’t seem to find any info on it, besides the “JUNE 30th, 2014” in your article. It seems a little weird that Adobe wouldn’t release a deadline in their blog post about this new Photography bundle if there indeed was one. Can you confirm?

I just installed the Photoshop CC 2014 free trial to make sure it runs OK on my computer, and I’d like to use the whole trial duration if there actually isn’t a deadline to sign up. :)

    Thank you again!!

    • Hey Dave, that’s a good question… It’s completely your choice. You can stay with your current purchased version of Lightroom, or switch to the version provided in the CC Photography Plan.

If you stay with what you have, then it will always be a static 5.x release of the Lightroom software. If you switch, then future/ongoing upgrades to Lightroom 6 etc are included in your membership at no cost.

Either option will continue to work fine with the Photoshop CC 2014 (and beyond) version that you receive.

One thing to note is if you change to the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom, then when the new Lightroom 6 comes out you’ll receive it free automatically – but if you ever wanted to convert your LR catalog back to the previous release afterwards, then it’s possible you may not be able to do so.

Finally, if you bought Lightroom from Adobe recently but would rather trade for the Photography Bundle or other CC plan instead, then if your purchase was within the past 30 days you can refund/exchange it easily.

  14. After being a purchase of Creative Suite over a number of years and other standalone Adobe software, I last year subscribed to the full Creative Cloud package. I’m now semi-retired and have decided that I only need PS and LR which support my photography hobby and have just subscribed to the Photographers package.

My question is, I would quite like to also add Acrobat. The standalone price of £17.58 GBP is however prohibitive for me now, is there a option for this to be added to my photographers package at a reasonable cost?

    Regards

  15. Hi there

I do photography and I’m interested in Photoshop and Lightroom but I don’t have any previous PS.

I am thinking of, if I do subscribe this CC Photography Plan would I be able to use it without Internet access, save photos on external drive and use it on different computer if I need to?

    Thank you

    Reply
    • Yes Daniel, to all of the above:

      1. You don’t need to own any previous software or versions to get this (or any CC) plan.

      2. After initial product installation, annual CC subscribers don’t need to be online again (for revalidation) for over four months.

      3. You can install on up to two computers (including both Windows and Mac OS), and can easily move the software from one system to another whenever you wish.

Hope that answers all your questions, if not then just post back!
